Circular Score: Bach Prelude in C Major
Circular Scores originated from Ted Riederer’s experiments with locked-groove composition. Beginning with Transfigurations (2021), Riederer created music by cutting individual circular grooves and layering them to build compositions through repetition and accumulation. The resulting scores transform this physical process of composing on vinyl into a visual form, with musical notation winding around the circle like a record groove.
